I rely on a lot of tools for Forth and Create, thankfully we live in a time where we have so many good resources at our fingertips to help us along. POLISH MY WRITING (FREE)
I don't always have a second pair of eyes on my posts so I need all the help I can get. Polish my writing is a great tool for checking spelling and grammatical errors. I always run my posts through it before hitting publish.
GRAMMARLY (FREE AND PAID)
Grammarly is another great tool for editing your work. The best part is they have a Chrome extension so no matter where you are typing it will be there to catch any errors.
EVERNOTE (FREE AND PAID)
Evernote is an app for taking notes. It's where I house all of my blogging notes and ideas. A cool feature is you can invite a friend into a note and collaborate on a project together.
When I started this blog back in January I almost went with Mailchimp because of the first free 1000 subscribers. However, after a lot of research Convertkit seemed like the better deal. You have to pay for so many additional features in Mailchimp but in Convertkit you get everything you need for one price.
Convertkit has seriously helped me grow my newsletter list and they make it super easy to understand behind the scenes.
Leadpages was a bit of an investment but I can't really say I regret it. It's been suuuuuper helpful getting people to sign up for my opt-ins and their landing pages are amazing. Convertkit does have landing pages so that's why I was a little hesitant adding Leadpages to my expenses but there's no comparision, Leadpages takes the cake for its many, beautiful options.
Squarespace is the bomb. If you are looking for something simple, easy to use, and beautiful then Squarespace is your answer.
If you are looking to grow your website traffic and you aren't already on Pinterest then get yo self on there pronto! Pinterest is craaazy good for growing your sites traffic. If you haven't already I suggest searching Pinterest for growing your traffic to get some tips on where to begin.
Coschedule is a scheduling platform for your social media accounts and blog posts, I've tried their free trial and it's something I will consider paying for in the future. However, they have a pretty nifty free headline analyzer for your blog post titles to help you get your headline noticed.
SUMOME (PAID AND FREE)
You see the social bar to the left of my site? That's from Sumome. Their free account allows you to use all of their apps to help bring in traffic to your site. I haven't really explored too much of Sumome but from what I've seen it's a useful tool.
ASANA (FREE AND PAID)
Asana is a great tool if you are looking for a place to manage your projects and track your progress. I tried giving Basecamp (another project management tool) a try but I couldn't get used to the interface design. Asana is not only easy to use, it's easy on the eyes.
Freshbooks is my go to accounting software. They make it super simple to set up and send invoices to clients. They offer a 30-day free trial so I would suggest checking them out if you are looking for accounting software.
HOOTSUITE (FREE AND PAID)
I'm all about putting my social media on autopilot and Hoostsuite is my favourite tool for just that. Every Sunday night I fill up my buffer with tweets and th,ey drip out throughout the week. Eventually, I would love to switch toMeetEdgar, however, it's not in my price range right now. MeetEdgar allows you to schedule and recycle your social media posts so you don't have to keep filling up your buffer once a week.
FACEBOOK GROUPS (FREE)
Facebook groups are a great place to connect with like-minded peeps and to get advice and feedback. A few of my favourite groups are:
I don't need to go into this one too much, do I? 😉 Now that Instagram has stories I rarely use Snapchat. Yay for one less app!
ADOBE SUITE (PAID)
Adobe Suite is my go-to software for all things design. I use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign the most, in fact all three programs are usually open on my computer at all times. If you aren't familiar with Adobe and not ready to shell out the cash for it then I suggest using Canva.com.
If you are looking for stock photos, Unsplash is a must. They are always adding new, high-quality photos and the best part is they are free.
If you are looking for stock photos that are fun, original, and unique Stocksy is the place to go. I don't mind paying $15 for a photo that is unique and not used by everyone on the internet.
CREATIVE MARKET (PAID)
Creative Market is my favourite place to get fonts, graphics, templates, themes, and anything else you can think of. Every Monday they offer 6 free resources and they are usually really useful.
